TAKEDOWN POLICY
> EFFECTIVE DATE: 6 APRIL 2026 | LAST UPDATED: 6 APRIL 2026
This policy explains how to report copyright, privacy, or other rights concerns related to content on Iteron.
1. What You Can Report
- Copyright infringement or unauthorized reuse of your protected content.
- Privacy violations involving personal information.
- Defamation, impersonation, or other unlawful/rights-violating content.
2. How to Submit a Complaint
Send an email to iteron.iiserm@gmail.com with subject line "Takedown Request" and include:
- Your full name and contact information.
- URL(s) or exact content identifiers you want reviewed.
- A clear description of the issue and the rights involved.
- Evidence supporting your claim (ownership proof, authorization context, screenshots, etc.).
- A good-faith statement that the information you provide is accurate.
- A statement that you understand false or bad-faith claims may lead to restriction of reporting access.
3. Evidence Requirement for Claims
- Copyright, plagiarism, or ownership claims must include sufficient supporting proof.
- Useful evidence may include dated drafts, commit history, version logs, timestamps, notebooks, communications, or equivalent verifiable records.
- Unsupported or purely conclusory allegations may be declined or closed without action.
4. Independent Creation and Similarity
Similarity between submissions can occur through independent creation. Similar outcomes alone do not automatically establish copying or infringement. Where evidence supports independent creation, organizers may recognize credit for all independently creating participants.
5. Review Process
- We target acknowledgment within 72 hours of receiving a complaint.
- We may request additional details to evaluate the complaint.
- Where appropriate, we may temporarily unpublish content during review.
- We target an initial decision within 14 calendar days, subject to complexity and evidence quality.
6. Possible Outcomes
- No action, where evidence is insufficient or no violation is found.
- Request for correction, clarification, or attribution update.
- Temporary unpublishing during extended review.
- Permanent removal, restriction, or other enforcement consistent with Terms of Use.
7. Counter-Statement and Appeal
If your content was removed and you believe this was in error, you may send a response with supporting evidence. We may restore content when justified.
Counter-statements should be sent within 14 calendar days of notice of action, unless a longer period is required by applicable law or expressly granted by organizers.
8. Abuse of Process
Fraudulent, abusive, or repetitive bad-faith reports may be rejected and may result in restriction from further reporting channels.
